Apple claims the 30GB iPod will play 2 hours of video on a single charge or 14 hours of music. If you mix video and music, your numbers will be lower than either of these two numbers.

You might consider getting a car charger for your iPod which will eliminate the concern about battery life on the trip:

This is especially necessary considering that the iPod doesn’t have a user replaceable battery where you could charge and carry a spare battery.

I just took my Creative Zen Vision M on a flight across country (6 hours) and watched 2 1/2 hours of video plus over an hour of music and still had charge left over. Creative claims 4 hours of video playback time on a single charge.

If you plan to watch movie on it then one movie approx 2-2.5 hrs will consume your charge.
If you plan to listen to JUST music then you are good for 6-8 hours.

Take extra sets of batteries along.Make certain that they are fully charged or are new non chargeable batteries.

HI,

Depends wat u r doing.
watching a movie takes up a lot and playing games on it and stuffing around also does (own experience).
if u r just listening to music and have charged it to its full capacity then it should last u. but buy a car charger. they r fairly cheap and then u r safe no matter wat.
